Two courses on the northern tip of Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia -- Cabot Links on the waterfront and Cabot Cliffs on the elevated headlands above it. The location is remote, the flight connections are limited, and the booking process is competitive. Groups that commit to the logistics tend to leave with it near the top of the list.

Mountain golf inside Banff National Park, anchored by Stanley Thompson's Banff Springs layout -- Golden Age architecture with mountain views on every hole. Silvertip, Stewart Creek, and Kananaskis are strong regional additions within an hour of Banff. Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, another Stanley Thompson masterpiece, is about four hours north and worth building a dedicated day around.

Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club sits along a glacial lake with Whistler and Blackcomb in the background, producing a mountain setting that makes every hole feel composed. Nicklaus North is the second course, 15 minutes away, with a similar format and more lakeside exposure. The Whistler village is one of the better resort towns in North America for non-golf programming, which makes the trip work for mixed groups.

A Canadian maritime golf province anchored by Brudenell River Golf Course and Dundarave Golf Course, both set in pastoral PEI farmland. Crowbush Cove, with eight holes directly on the Gulf of St. Lawrence, is the scenic standout. The island is accessible from Halifax or Charlottetown, and the lobster and seafood infrastructure handles the non-golf hours.
